Small Business Support
I own dandelion wishes on West Broad Street, and am very proud to have the endorsements of many small businesses in town. While we have had small business owners over the years serve on council, the perspective of a local merchant will be an important new voice, as merchants have very specific needs that are different from other small businesses.
I joined the Hopewell Borough Economic Development Committee (EDC) in January of 2020, soon after opening my own business. I was appointed chair in 2022, and am quite proud of how much more active the committee has become under my leadership. We have expanded Cruise Night in a way that makes it more supportive of our local merchants. We spend a significant amount of time discussing and brainstorming ways the borough can be more supportive of the business community. We are currently working with the Sourland Conservancy to beautify Broad Street with native plantings for 2024. We are also exploring ordinances to help preserve our small-town charm and make our downtown a more desirable location for small businesses to open. We have given important feedback to the Master Plan committee so that they can incorporate some of these ideas into the update of the Borough Master Plan. EDC meetings are open to the public and are held on the 3rd Tuesday of every month at 8:45AM, on the lower level of Borough Hall. Having the voice of a local merchant ON our Borough Council will make the work of the EDC more efficient and effective.

After the EDC was not able to help produce a town map in support of businesses, I spearheaded the creation of Downtown Hopewell, under the mantra of “complement, don’t compete”. I believe that by working together, and supporting each other, we can improve foot traffic throughout town. Working with a wonderful team of my fellow Hopewell merchants, we launched a print brochure, a website (DowntownHopewell.com), and social media channels @downtownhopewell for both Facebook and Instagram. We have plans to grow this group in 2024, so local businesses can continue to collaborate, brainstorm, and work together to make Downtown Hopewell a destination.
I am proud to have received the endorsements of the local business owners listed on this page.

Financial donations are not accepted, but words of support are greatly appreciated. I also understand that often businesses are not comfortable supporting a candidate publicly, and I respect that. I will work for ALL Hopewell Businesses regardless of who you vote for or endorse.
